About Haar-Informatik
Haar-Informatik is the independent software and data consultancy of Thomas Haar, a university-qualified computer scientist and member of the KNX Association. Working freelance in the Nuremberg, Fürth and Erlangen region and remotely, Haar-Informatik serves KNX manufacturers as well as organisations in other industries. Its KNX services cover custom ETS apps for ETS 5 and ETS 6, firmware and device management tools, protocol development, embedded integration, and automated testing tailored to each device.
Testing solutions can exercise parameters and communication objects, send and measure bus telegrams, compare results with specifications, and produce repeatable logs for firmware regression checks. The business also develops the ETS Power Editor, an ETS 6 add-in with a scripting engine and a local AI connector for working with open KNX projects, alongside tools for creating and linking group addresses from Excel.
