Christian Haase Sculpture is the San Francisco practice of sculptor Christian Haase, whose work centers on the human figure. Combining Renaissance-inspired craftsmanship with contemporary expression, Haase creates bronze figurative sculptures marked by realism, careful detail, and attention to gesture, contour, and light. His work ranges from intimate studies of faces and hands to commissioned sculptures and large-scale monumental pieces. He also works in oil painting and marble carving.
A graduate of Art Center College of Design, Haase taught design at Kyoto Design Academy in Japan before dedicating himself to sculpture. He continued his studies under sculptor Richard MacDonald and later established his own practice. His broader design work includes a first-place-winning vehicle for General Motors in the World Solar Challenge and large-scale mermaid statues in Las Vegas. His work has been featured at the Smithsonian Natural History Museum, the M. H. de Young Museum, Warner Brothers Corporation in New York, and the Academy of Art Showcase in San Francisco’s Union Square.
