Habitat Consulting

Habitat Consulting is a natural resource management consultancy founded by Louise Duff, a freelance consultant with three decades of experience working to support healthy, connected landscapes and waterways. The business collaborates with local government, NGOs, communities and land managers to protect, restore and promote ecosystem health for both nature and people. Its services include strategic planning, helping clients define objectives, assess assets and risks, choose management actions, and prepare implementation and monitoring plans.

Habitat Consulting also designs engagement programs, facilitates stakeholder discussions, and develops environmental education and social change campaigns to build awareness and stewardship. Ecological restoration services include consultation, investigations, threat analysis and practical project plans detailing activities, materials, costs, labour and timing. The consultancy also provides environmental writing, creating or editing content for different audiences, from reports to communications that explain environmental issues clearly.

Its experience spans biodiversity, threatened species, wetlands, estuaries, river catchments, farms, reserves, urban parks and ecotourism. Habitat Consulting takes a collaborative, locally grounded approach and can bring in associates when projects require additional expertise
