About HAC
The Honourable Artillery Company (HAC) is a historic British organisation established by Royal Charter on 25 August 1537. Registered as a charity in England and Wales, its charitable purpose is military exercise and training and the better defence of the realm. The HAC has occupied Artillery Garden since 1641, and its headquarters and Mess, Armoury House, was built in 1734 in London.
The organisation comprises two indivisible parts: the HAC Regiment, which is part of the Army Reserve, and a membership of around 2,500 active and veteran personnel. Its activities include soldiering, youth engagement, charitable work, ceremonial duties, and sports and societies. The HAC also runs two Combined Cadet Force contingents and a Special Constabulary Detachment, alongside ceremonial sub-units.
The Company manages its civil and financial affairs, property and facilities through its Court of Assistants and staff. It offers Armoury House and its facilities for corporate and private venue hire. The HAC also provides information about membership, recruitment, its history, collections and traditions.
