Hackemer Lofts

Hackemer Lofts is a website devoted to racing pigeons and the life and work of Horst Hackemer, a longtime pigeon fancier. Created to share his experience and interests, the site welcomes fellow enthusiasts to explore information that the family describes as timeless. Horst passed away in early 2022, and visitors can read an obituary outlining aspects of his extraordinary life.

The site’s main offering is a collection of Horst’s writing and pigeon-related resources. It features his “Ask Horst” columns, including articles first published in Racing Pigeon Digest and later added online. These pieces cover some of the more unusual and engaging aspects of racing pigeons, drawing on Horst’s years of experience. Visitors can also browse flying highlights and other material about his involvement with the sport.

Hackemer Lofts is an informational and commemorative resource rather than a commercial pigeon retailer. Its purpose is to preserve Horst’s knowledge, share entertaining and useful reading with pigeon fanciers, and introduce visitors to his lasting enthusiasm for pigeons.
