About HaDiKo
HaDiKo e. V., the Hans-Dickmann-Kolleg, is the largest self-managed student residence in Germany, located in Karlsruhe. Catering primarily to students from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), the Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft Karlsruhe, and the Pädagogische Hochschule Karlsruhe, HaDiKo provides a vibrant community for over 1,100 residents.
The facility boasts six buildings, including the recently completed Schroff-Kolleg, which accommodates 103 students with modern amenities and private bathrooms. Each floor features shared kitchens and common areas, promoting a lively atmosphere for social interaction and collaboration. HaDiKo also emphasizes inclusivity by offering accessible rooms and various student initiatives, including workshops and activities in a well-equipped bicycle repair shop and music rooms.
The residence is connected via a high-speed fiber-optic network through HaDiNet, ensuring that students have reliable internet access. Through its self-governance structure, HaDiKo fosters a sense of belonging and community, making it an ideal place for students to thrive both academically and socially
