HaemaLogiX is a clinical-stage Australian biotechnology company developing next-generation immunotherapies for blood cancers and B-cell disorders. Its principal focus is multiple myeloma, an incurable cancer of plasma cells, with early investigation also directed toward AL amyloidosis. The company’s approach centers on KMA and LMA, antigens found on certain cancerous plasma cells and described as absent from normal healthy plasma cells. By targeting these markers, HaemaLogiX aims to direct immune activity toward diseased cells while limiting effects on healthy cells.
Its pipeline includes KappaMab, a humanised monoclonal antibody designed to bind KMA and recruit the patient’s immune system; KMCAR T-cell therapy, which modifies a patient’s T cells to recognize KMA-expressing cells; and LMA-targeting antibodies and CAR-T therapies in preclinical development. HaemaLogiX is also exploring bispecific and trispecific T-cell engagers that connect KMA- or LMA-expressing myeloma cells with CD3-positive T cells. The company reports completed studies indicating KappaMab may enhance standard immunomodulatory drug treatments. Its KMCAR therapy has entered a Phase I clinical trial.
