Hände am Pferd

Hände am Pferd is the equine physiotherapy practice of Susanne Barz, serving the Südpfalz, Vorderpfalz and greater Karlsruhe area. Trained as a horse physiotherapist at the German Institute for Equine Osteopathy (DIPO), Barz focuses on helping horses move more comfortably by addressing movement restrictions, easing pain and supporting muscle relaxation. Her approach also includes care for horses seeking general wellness.

Services include equine physiotherapy, with techniques such as trigger-point massage and acupressure, as well as guidance on using body bands and taping. Barz also checks a horse’s equipment as part of treatment. Because riding that does not follow biomechanical principles can limit the lasting benefits of therapy, she offers riding lessons intended to support a healthier path for horse and rider.

Additional options include the Bemer Horse-Set blanket to stimulate microcirculation and the Novafon vibration therapy device for massage. The Bemer set can be used during a treatment or rented by the month. Appointments include initial and follow-up treatments, with travel costs applying beyond the stated distance from Karlsruhe.
