The Dead Sea Protection Company (חל"י) is a government-owned enterprise in Israel, operating under the Ministry of Tourism. Established to address the rising water levels at the Dead Sea’s western shore, the company implements both short-term and long-term solutions to safeguard hotels and infrastructure from flooding risks. Recognized as a national priority project since 2007, חל"י collaborates with numerous experts across various fields to develop optimal strategies that balance environmental sustainability, tourism, and industrial needs.

In addition to protective measures, the company has expanded its mandate to plan and execute tourism projects in southern Israel, from the northern Dead Sea region to Eilat. This initiative encompasses the development of a comprehensive tourism product for this unique desert area, including the establishment of attractions, accommodations, and regulatory frameworks. Through systematic planning, חל"י aims to elevate the tourism potential of the southern region, ensuring that projects meet both immediate and future needs while promoting a cohesive vision for growth.
