Haima České Budějovice

Haima České Budějovice is a volunteer-led regional association supporting children with blood disorders and blood cancers, including leukemia, who are treated at the pediatric hemato-oncology unit of České Budějovice Hospital. It brings together people of different ages and backgrounds to help young patients and their families through the challenges of serious illness and lengthy treatment.

The association works with families and hospital staff to identify practical needs. It raises funds and collects donations to provide additional equipment for the hemato-oncology unit, improve the quality and comfort of care, and offer other forms of support to children and their relatives, including families facing financial hardship. Its activities also include psychological support for parents and family events, such as a restorative weekend for families. Haima develops cooperation among parents, healthcare professionals, donors, organizations, and the wider public, and shares information, stories, and updates about its work. Individuals and institutions can contribute through financial or in-kind donations, fundraising events, and sponsorship.
