Halberg Foundation is a charitable organization founded in 1963 by Olympic legend, Sir Murray Halberg ONZ, MBE. Their vision is for an inclusive New Zealand, where all people, regardless of their ability, have equal opportunities to enhance their lives through sport and recreation. They believe in bringing about moments of joy for all the people of New Zealand.

The core work of Halberg includes a team of regional Advisers throughout the country who work tirelessly to get physically disabled young people involved in sports and recreation. They collaborate with schools, local sport and recreation organizations, facilities, and clubs to raise awareness and capability for the provision of inclusive sports programs and events. Halberg also delivers inclusive training courses to increase the knowledge and skills of teachers and sport deliverers, empowering them to deliver quality sporting opportunities to everyone.

They host the Halberg Games, a national sports competition for physically disabled and vision impaired young people, and provide grants through the Halberg Activity Fund to help overcome financial barriers for participation in sport and recreation. Their flagship fundraising event, the ISPS Handa Halberg Awards, honors and celebrates sporting excellence in New Zealand. With the support of sponsors, partners, and funders, Halberg Foundation can continue their important work towards creating a more inclusive society.
