Half Your Plate is an educational program founded in 2015 by the Canadian Produce Marketing Association (CPMA), which represents the fresh produce industry in Canada. With a mission to improve the health of Canadians, Half Your Plate encourages individuals of all ages to incorporate more fresh fruits and vegetables into their diets. The program provides a wide range of resources to help consumers achieve this goal.
From recipes and blogs to informative videos and fact sheets, Half Your Plate offers practical tips on selecting, storing, and preparing fruits and veggies. They also highlight the cost-effectiveness of produce through their #Fresh$20 Campaign and run a Freggie™ Children’s Program to promote healthier eating habits in kids. The success of Half Your Plate is possible thanks to a collaborative effort involving health professionals, educators, the produce industry, and various organizations such as the Canadian Cancer Society and the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
