Christopher Hillary

Hallam Urology is a specialist private urology service in Sheffield, UK, providing personalised assessment and treatment for a range of benign and malignant urological conditions. The service is provided by Mr Chris Hillary, a local urologist and urogenital cancer surgeon who also practises at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. After specialist training in kidney cancer surgery at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital, he took up a consultant post in 2021 and began developing Hallam Urology the following year to improve patients’ access to specialist care.

Patients can arrange an initial consultation, often within days of contacting the service. Assessments may include a review of symptoms, physical examination, urine testing and ultrasound measurement of residual urine. Further investigations and treatments include urinary flow testing, flexible cystoscopy, prostate ultrasound and biopsy, and imaging such as X-ray, ultrasound, MRI and CT. Surgical care covers procedures including vasectomy, circumcision, stone surgery, bladder cancer treatment, TURP and kidney surgery. Appointments are held at Spire Claremont Hospital, with a friendly, open and evidence-based approach.
