Halmay Zoltán Olimpiai Hagyományőrző Egyesület

Halmay Zoltán Olympic Heritage Association is a sports and cultural organization dedicated to preserving Olympic history and honoring athletes, with a particular focus on Zoltán Halmay and the sporting heritage of Hungary’s Vas County. Named after the two-time Olympic swimming champion, the association shares stories of Olympians and other athletes with regional connections through articles, profiles, photographs, historical studies, and archival collections.

Its activities bring sports history to life through commemorations, exhibitions, lectures, interviews, and community events. The association helps organize memorials and ceremonies honoring notable athletes and coaches, and hosts conversations with current and former sports figures. It also stages the annual Halmay Cup, an amateur swimming competition inspired by Halmay’s Olympic victories. Open to participants across age and gender categories, the event encourages community involvement in sport.

Visitors can explore news and event coverage, galleries, information about the association’s namesake and leadership, and resources such as the Kárándy József Sports Library.
