About Hamburg Liaison Office China
The Hamburg Liaison Office (HLO) China is the official representation of the city of Hamburg in China. Established in 1986, it serves as a bridge between the two influential economic centers and important ports of Hamburg and Shanghai. The HLO represents the interests of various organizations including the Hamburg Senate, Hamburg Chamber of Commerce, Hamburg Business Development Corporation, Port of Hamburg Marketing, Hamburg Tourism, and Hamburg Marketing.
It facilitates regular exchanges and comprehensive cooperation in the fields of economy, science, culture, sports, and education between the two partner cities. The HLO also supports market entry for Hamburg companies in China and vice versa, as well as city marketing for the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg. It organizes major events like the Hamburg Summit: China meets Europe and the China Time festival, which deepen the relationship between the two nations.
