HAMINAN UIMASEURA Haminan Uimaseura on vuonna 1909 perustettu ainoa uintiin erikoistunut haminalaisseura. Seuran päätoiminta-ajatuksena on tarjota kaupungin lapsille ja nuorille mahdollisuus oppia uimaan. Opetusta seura antaa sekä isossa että pienessä altaassa. Ryhmiä on viikoittain yhteensä 21, joista 9 harjoittelee pienessä altaassa ja 12 isossa. Pikkualtaassa opetellaan perusuimataito, jotta sitten pärjää isossa altaassa varsinaisen tekniikkaopetuksen parissa. Uimaopetus tapahtuu leikkien varjolla. Tällä seura pyrkii siihen, ettei harjoituksissa käynti olisi mitään tylsää altaan päästä päähän kelausta, vaan että harjoituksissa olisi kivaa. Seuratoimintaan pääsee mukaan neljävuotiaana. Harrastusryhmien lisäksi seuralla on myös kilpauintiryhmä, johon tällä hetkellä kuuluu 11 uimaria. Haminan uimaseuran toimintaan mukaan ovat tervetulleita kaikki uintiharrastuksesta kiinnostuneet lapset, nuoret ja aikuiset!

Haminan Uimaseura is a swimming club founded in 1909 and the only club in Hamina dedicated exclusively to swimming. Its main goal is to help local children and young people learn to swim, while welcoming adults and anyone else interested in swimming. The club offers instruction in both small and large pools, with 21 weekly groups: nine in the smaller pool and 12 in the larger one.
Beginners develop essential water skills in the small pool before progressing to swimming technique instruction in the large pool. Lessons use games to make practice enjoyable rather than repetitive. Children can join the club’s activities from the age of four.
In addition to recreational swimming groups, Haminan Uimaseura runs a competitive swimming group, which currently has 11 swimmers. The club also lists an adult group and publishes information about courses, registration, schedules, and swimming results. Through its lessons and group activities, the club supports swimming skills and participation in the local community
