Hanahan Jiu Jitsu

Hanahan Jiu Jitsu is a community-based Brazilian Jiu Jitsu program in Hanahan, South Carolina, offering instruction in a safe, friendly, and supportive environment. Its classes introduce students to self-defense and the traditional martial art, blending Brazilian Jiu Jitsu with wrestling and grappling. The program welcomes beginners with no prior experience and encourages participants to learn and progress at their own pace.

Training is designed for children, teens, and adults, with age-based beginner classes for children ages 5–7 and 8–10, plus an all-levels class for adults and teens. The instruction can support goals ranging from bullying prevention and practical self-defense to competition. Hanahan Jiu Jitsu also highlights the wider benefits of practice, including physical conditioning, strength, flexibility, focus, calm under pressure, and adaptability.

Respect and safety are central to the program, which aims to build community and lasting friendships alongside martial arts skills. Classes are held Mondays and Thursdays at Hawks Nest’s Multipurpose Room, 1177 Williams Lane, Hanahan, South Carolina. Registration is through Hanahan Recreation Department Programs.
