Handicap Drive is a family-run wheelchair transport service based in Nuremberg, serving the city and the wider Mittelfranken region. Founded in 2016, the company has grown from a single taxi into a fleet of seven specially equipped vehicles and is available seven days a week. Its services include medical transport to appointments such as dialysis, chemotherapy, radiation therapy and rehabilitation; mobility assistance for eligible passengers using a Mittelfranken district authorization; private wheelchair taxi journeys; and coordinated group trips.

Vehicles accommodate different needs, including manual, large electric and specialist wheelchairs. Handicap Drive emphasizes punctual, patient and personal support, with staff accompanying passengers safely to their destinations. Many journeys can be booked at short notice, sometimes with only a few hours’ notice.

For eligible medical trips, the company bills health insurers directly, helping passengers avoid paying costs upfront. Its listed partners include major German health insurers, the Mittelfranken district and the Nuremberg taxi center.
