About Association Hand on Heart
Hand on Heart is a brand dedicated to improving mental health in Cameroon. Their mission is centered around providing knowledge, raising social awareness, and building a financial support system. Established in 2009, Hand on Heart aims to integrate mentally ill individuals into Cameroonian society by offering mental health information and promoting positive attitudes towards mental health.
They organize seminars in collaboration with mental health professionals and provide support for families of patients, improving their lives and explaining their rights. Hand on Heart also focuses on driving local research on mental diseases and empowering psychology students to work as local therapists. In the long run, their goals include establishing a food, clothing, and pharmaceuticals bank, a healthcare and rehabilitation center, and a scholarship program for professional classes.
