Hangtown Motocross Classic

Hangtown Motocross Classic is a major annual motocross event organized by the Dirt Diggers North Motorcycle Club, founded in 1968. First held at Murray’s Ranch near Placerville, the race has grown into a longstanding Northern California tradition and is now hosted at Prairie City State Vehicular Recreation Area near Sacramento. The event brings together professional riders, fans, families, vendors and sponsors for a day of high-level racing and festival-style entertainment. Its program includes the Women’s Motocross Championship, with Hangtown serving as a round of the series.

The brand offers event tickets, including general admission, VIP seating and family packages, along with on-site camping options. Visitors can use maps and planning information to prepare for parking and navigate the venue. Camping is dry, with designated spaces and toilets, but no hookups, potable water or showers. Hangtown also invites businesses to participate as display vendors, food concessionaires or sponsors, connecting them with race fans.
