Ndah Mbawa is a brand that aims to make reading an enjoyable and inclusive experience for children. Our story began with Kirsten and Aiyven, two young and passionate readers who wanted to share their love for books with others. Their debut novels, Sagas of Anya and Land Of The Nurogons, were inspired by their entries to the 2019 BBC 500 Words writing competition.
Despite not winning the competition, Kirsten and Aiyven didn't let that discourage them. They turned their entries into middle-grade novels, which were published in April 2020 with the support of a successful Kickstarter campaign. Since then, their books have gained recognition through various media outlets such as Channel 4, Steph's Packed Lunch, and even Disney.
Realizing the need for diverse and inclusive children's book subscriptions, Ndah Mbawa provides a monthly book subscription for kids aged 4-14. Our carefully curated selection of books ensures that every child can feel represented and included. We believe that books are a form of portable magic, and through Ndah Mbawa, we aim to spread that magic and create happier reading experiences for every chapter of a child's life
