Based in The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Happy Ageing Lab Foundation is a think tank supported by ZeShan Foundation, Ho Cheung Shuk Yuen Foundation, and CUHK S-KPF, connecting academics, design and health professionals to innovate housing solutions for an ageing population. To promote ageing-in-place, intergenerational living, and healthy ageing, the Lab targets to expand the housing choices available in the market by developing implementable, innovative housing prototypes through research, knowledge exchange and industry engagement.

About 樂齡實驗室 Happy Ageing Lab
Happy Ageing Lab is a brand founded in 2021 at the School of Architecture, CUHK and funded by CUHK-SKPF. Their mission is to revamp the design and management of the built environment for healthy ageing. They offer participatory R&D services that bridge users and professionals, and foster interdisciplinary collaborations.
Happy Ageing Lab provides Three-in-One Services to help built environment professionals, real estate corporates, property management, service providers, and the public sector. Through user- and community engagements, they help clients understand the Silver Market by analyzing the needs, aspirations, and challenges of their prospective customers. They also train older adults to conduct user-oriented design audits, identify areas of improvement, and develop integrated solutions.
Happy Ageing Lab strongly believes in empathy and adopts an evidence-based, user-oriented approach in their research and development processes. Their scope includes architecture, urban design and planning, place-making, interior design, and services design. The lab aims to make a positive impact on elders by encouraging their social participation and improving their well-being.
They also seek to induce changes in practice, promote design innovation, and influence policymaking for the emerging silver market
