Haras du Bocage is a thoroughbred horse breeding and training facility in Canapville, in Normandy’s Pays d’Auge, owned by Claire and Antoine Mercier since 2021. Drawing on their experience in racing, breeding, breaking and pre-training, the couple offer a range of horse-care services, including year-round and seasonal boarding, foaling, breaking, pre-training, and accommodation for horses resting or recovering from injury. The stud also welcomes horses of different types for its equine hydrotherapy spa, which adjusts water temperature, depth and jet strength to support care for lower-limb conditions.
Set across 60 hectares, the facility includes individual stalls, foaling boxes with heating and monitoring cameras, paddocks with shelters, a walker, a lunge ring and two exercise tracks. Veterinary care is supported by the nearby Livet Equine Veterinary Hospital, while farriery is provided by Sarl Baijot. Haras du Bocage limits the number of resident horses to protect pasture quality and maintain its standard of service. Feed includes Reverdy grains, local hay and Alliance Équine supplements, described by the stud as natural and non-doping.
