Le Haras de Pierrepont

Haras de Pierrepont and its neighboring Elevage de Pierrepont are family-run stud farms in the Bessin area of Normandy, near Bayeux. Managed by the Lamy family, they have specialized in breeding racehorses for 45 years, raising both Thoroughbreds and trotters. Pierre Lamy began his career working for the de Lastours family at Haras de Gruchy before taking over management of the stud in the 2000s. His son Sébastien and daughter-in-law Claire now manage Elevage de Pierrepont.

Together, the two farms cover 135 hectares in a region renowned for horse breeding. Their location offers convenient access to nearby breeding farms, including Haras d’Etreham and Haras de la Hétraie, as well as to Caen/Carpiquet Airport, Saint-Lô and Deauville. The farms raise and wean foals, with facilities and a team supporting their breeding work. Horses born at Pierrepont include notable race winners such as Le Balafré, Norse King and Master Dino, as well as the trotter L’Amiral Mauzun.
