About Harbor Light
The Harbor Light Newspaper, a family-owned and operated company, is a renowned weekly newspaper based in Harbor Springs, Michigan. With a rich history dating back to 1970, the company has been in the O’Neill family for over 50 years. Kevin O’Neill and his wife Ruth initially purchased the newspaper from Wesley Maurer, Sr., and their son Charles O’Neill now serves as the company president and executive editor.
Charles, a Harbor Springs High School graduate, holds degrees from Bowdoin College, Northwestern University, and the University of Michigan. The newspaper boasts a talented team, including Kate Bassett as News Editor, Michelle Ketterer as Advertising Manager, and Mark Flemming as the production artist and photographer. The Harbor Light is published weekly on Wednesdays and offers mail subscriptions locally and across the country.
