Harbour Hospice is one of the largest hospices in New Zealand, caring for patients with a life-limiting illness, their family and whānau for more than 40 years. Each year we care for more than 1300 people across the beautiful North Shore, Hibiscus Coast and Warkworth/Wellsford regions, supporting them at home and in our Inpatient Units to live every moment in whatever way is most important to them. Harbour Hospice is a specialist palliative care provider serving families in Auckland’s Hibiscus Coast, North Shore and Warkworth/Wellsford communities. Its compassionate care is free and supports people living with serious illness, alongside their families, whānau and carers. Care is available at home and across three hospice sites: Hibiscus House in Red Beach, Kārohirohi in Takapuna and Tui House in Warkworth.
Harbour Hospice’s multidisciplinary teams include specialist nurses, doctors and family support professionals. Their work supports wellbeing across medical, spiritual, cultural, psychological and social needs, with a focus on helping each person live every moment in a way that matters to them. Services include inpatient care, outpatient clinics, family and carer support, programmes and support groups, and resources for healthcare professionals. The organisation also provides information in multiple languages and welcomes patient referrals.
Community support is central to Harbour Hospice. People can donate, fundraise, volunteer, attend events or support its hospice shops, which sell second-hand goods.
