S'heim Harddraverij

Stichting Harddraverij Sassenheim is a local organization that arranges the annual kortebaandraverij, a short-track harness racing event in Sassenheim. Traditionally held on the third Friday of June, the race brings together participating horses and forms part of the village’s event calendar. The foundation also organizes the Dutch Championship, scheduled alongside the 2027 race on Friday, June 18, at Teijlingerlaan. The program is due to begin at 1:00 p.m., with racing expected to start around 1:30 p.m.

The organization shares information about the event, participating horses, race results, news, and the broader racing calendar. Its website also explains how kortebaan racing works and provides contact details for the board. Sponsors and supporters are central to the foundation’s work: it invites businesses and individuals to become sponsors or “Friends of” the event, helping make the race possible. The foundation also communicates with advertisers about checking and updating their listings. Through its event planning and community partnerships, Stichting Harddraverij Sassenheim helps sustain a longstanding local tradition.
