Harlawhill Day Care Centre

Harlawhill Day Care Centre is a Scottish charitable organisation in Prestonpans, East Lothian, providing person-centred day care for older people, including those living with dementia or other complex needs. Established in 1992, the centre operates from a converted former Co-op store and offers a welcoming, homelike setting where warmth, dignity and connection are central to care. Its services support people who need extra help to continue living independently at home, while offering families and carers companionship and peace of mind.

The centre has accessible facilities, transport services and spaces for dining, relaxing and taking a quiet break. Members can enjoy activities shaped around their interests and abilities, including music therapy, sing-alongs, arts and crafts, memory games and gentle exercise. These activities encourage social connection, reminiscence and physical and mental wellbeing. Harlawhill also uses interactive technology to help members stay in touch with family and remain engaged. The team welcomes enquiries about referrals, arranging a visit and applying for support.
