HARMfree Transport and Logistics is a programme to support Health and Safety Champions that has transport and logistics specific content to address the unique pressures that the industry faces, and the high number of incidents in and around vehicles in the workplace. Transport and logistics workers are subject to high pressure, demanding working conditions, circadian disruption, sleep deprivation, and in some cases long periods of isolation which is causing stress, anxiety, depression, and fatigue. There is a lot of information available around these issues, but you have to really search for it. Bringing resources and information into an easy-to-follow programme saves time for employers and contains information that is practical and can be easily implemented. HARMfree Transport and Logistics consists of an online portal of existing industry resources, tools, information, relevant industry news, training materials, and qualifications, that are tailored to the needs of the transport and logistics industry. Multilingual materials and different ways of learning (auditory, visual, kinaesthetic) cater for our diverse and multicultural workforce. On the portal, transport and logistics company Health & Safety Champions will connect through an online forum, so they can share knowledge, and learn from each other. Our goals: - Empower, support, and increase the capabilities of leaders to better lead and manage workers - Raise awareness to, address, and reduce the harm caused by psychosocial hazards in the workplace - Identify where behavioural change is required within a workplace and guide towards solutions - Guide transport and logistics companies to implement Good Work Design systems within their workplace - Connect Health and Safety Champions to share knowledge and experiences

About HARMfree Transport and Logistics
HARMfree Transport and Logistics is an industry-led initiative focused on enhancing workplace safety and worker well-being within the transport and logistics sector. The program caters to Health and Safety Champions, offering practical solutions for managing psychosocial harm hazards prevalent in the industry. HARMfree provides a comprehensive online portal with industry-specific resources, training materials, news, and forums for peer knowledge-sharing.
By collaborating with industry associations, including the New Zealand Trucking Association and National Road Carriers, as well as industry partners, HARMfree ensures the content is relevant and reliable. Through funding from an ACC Injury Prevention Grant, the program has accelerated its reach and impact. The ultimate goal is to empower leaders, raise awareness on workplace hazards, promote behavioral changes, and foster a culture of safety within transport and logistics companies.
