The Harpur Trust is a Bedford-based charitable organisation with a history spanning more than 450 years. Its vision is a community where everyone can thrive, with a focus on helping people improve their lives, realise their potential and take pride in Bedford. The Trust invests in local people and their futures through education, community support and affordable accommodation.

Its grant programmes support charities, community groups, individuals, and schools and early-years provision in Bedford Borough, including projects for children from lower-income families. The Trust also sponsors local events and helps promote volunteering and community giving through its role as a founding member and host of Bedford Giving. For older Bedford residents, it provides safe, affordable almshouse accommodation.

Education is another central part of its work. The Trust supports and provides education through its schools, offers bursaries for talented pupils, and sponsors schools through HEART Academies Trust. Its schools include Pilgrims Pre-Preparatory School, Bedford Girls’ School, Bedford Modern School and Bedford School.
