HartvoorVenlo

Hart voor Venlo is a local foundation working to make the municipality of Venlo safer in the event of cardiac arrest. It brings together volunteer civilian responders and automated external defibrillators (AEDs), helping ensure that people nearby can provide early assistance while emergency services are on their way. The foundation supports the Reanimatie Oproep Netwerk in Venlo and connects residents with HartslagNu, the national alert platform for people willing and able to perform CPR.

Hart voor Venlo shares information about AED locations and provides access to CPR and resuscitation courses, encouraging residents to learn skills that can help save lives. It also recruits volunteers and promotes community participation in the local response network. The organisation reports that 1,209 Venlo residents are registered as civilian responders and that 159 AEDs in the municipality are registered with HartslagNu, with 83 percent accessible around the clock. Through its network, courses, AED information and volunteer opportunities, Hart voor Venlo works to improve the chances of survival after cardiac arrest.
