The Harwood Museum of Art is a museum in Taos, New Mexico, founded in 1923. Housed in a historic John Gaw Meem building, it presents more than a century of art connected to Taos and Northern New Mexico, alongside exhibitions that bring a wider range of art to the region. Its permanent collections span contemporary and traditional works, including Taos Society of Artists, Taos Moderns, Native American art, Hispanic traditions, prints, drawings, photographs, and special collections.
A distinctive feature is the Agnes Martin Gallery, an installation of seven paintings donated by the abstract expressionist artist, who called Taos home. The museum shares its collections through exhibitions, guided tours, lectures, artist presentations, and public events, including programs in its 95-seat Arthur Bell Auditorium. Its educational offerings include programs for learners and the Center for Creative Learning.
