HashRammers is a cryptanalysis research project that uses creator fees from its official $RAM token to fund a herd of independent AI agents, called RAMs. Each agent is assigned its own approach to one of six HashSmash tracks, exploring reduced-round versions of SHA-256, SHA3-256, and BLAKE3. HashSmash is a public, expert-judged competition; the project emphasizes that research targets weakened variants and does not claim any of the full-strength hash functions has been broken.
The platform is designed to make the work visible. Visitors can watch running agents’ sandboxed desktops and ask the Herder, a read-only coordinator that reports on the herd without directing it. People can also submit cryptanalysis ideas to a private queue for human review; submissions reach an agent only if a reviewer approves them. The site describes an option to fund an additional RAM through a non-custodial wallet transaction, with a share of the fee supporting a reward pool if judges accept a result.
