Hastings Musical Festival

The Hastings Musical Festival is a vibrant celebration of local talent held annually at the White Rock Theatre, showcasing the best in singing, dance, speech and drama, and instrumental performances. Established in 1908, this esteemed event spans three weeks each year in February and March, inviting participants of all ages to display their skills. Each performance is evaluated by expert adjudicators who provide constructive feedback, fostering growth and appreciation in the performing arts. Winners in various categories receive trophies and awards, with special recognition for junior classes.

Entrants prepare to compete across a range of disciplines, including dance, singing, drama, and instrumental music, with the upcoming 2025 competition entries opening on October 1, 2024. The festival not only highlights individual talent but also nurtures community spirit through collaboration among entrants, teachers, and volunteers. With a commitment to excellence and fostering emerging performers, the Hastings Musical Festival continues to be a cherished tradition in the arts scene of Hastings.
