Hatortxu Rock is a music and solidarity festival based in the Basque Country, founded in 1999 around a vision of a country free of political prisoners. Its programme and community have been shaped by music, mutual support and auzolana: collective, voluntary work that the organisers describe as a vital part of the festival’s legacy. After 30 editions in Lakuntza, Hatortxu Rock has come to an end, with its farewell expressed through the message “Hator hator neska-mutil etxera.
” The organisers invite people to learn about the festival’s history, explore photos and past editions, and listen to its official playlist. The website also provides information for volunteers, including shift sign-ups, and offers a shop and an app to download. Hatortxu’s farewell is also a transition: the site says the ASKE festival will take its place, with an event planned for 27 December in Atarrabia and further details to be announced.
Through its activities and resources, Hatortxu Rock celebrates music, solidarity and community participation
