About Haus der Religionen
Haus der Religionen is a unique brand in Bern that serves as a meeting place for different religions and cultures. Since 2014, it has provided dignified spaces for eight religious communities who previously lacked suitable places for their ceremonies. With Hindus, Muslims, Christians, Alevites, and Buddhists having their own dedicated rooms, Jews, Bahá’í, and Sikhs also contribute to the diverse program.
The core of Haus der Religionen is the dialogue area, which hosts educational offerings, family and youth work, exhibitions, lectures, discussions, and various cultural events. Additionally, the brand features the Vanakam restaurant, where visitors can embark on a culinary journey around the world with delicious vegetarian dishes from different countries. Haus der Religionen strives for more than mere coexistence, acting as a laboratory for living together and inviting all interested parties, including those who do not identify as religious, to experience and foster dialogue across the borders of religions, languages, and cultures.
The brand offers guided tours, workshops, educational programs, and space for rent in a central location with an extraordinary intercultural environment. By becoming a member or making a donation, individuals can directly support the organization's work in youth, culture, and participation.
