Haveinlist is an open directory designed to help people discover local businesses based on proximity rather than advertising spend. The platform features listings across a broad range of categories, including restaurants, home services, contractors, automotive businesses, beauty and wellness providers, shopping, and professional services. Visitors can search by business name, state, postcode, or location and browse options such as electricians, appliance repair services, pest control companies, clinics, and restaurants.

For businesses, Haveinlist offers a place to create a listing and reach people searching for nearby services. The site presents business details and descriptions alongside categories and location information, helping users compare relevant options in their area. It also publishes articles and provides opportunities to write and submit content, advertise, and register or log in to an account. Haveinlist describes its directory as free to list and free to search, with results organized by distance rather than paid placement. Its aim is to make finding genuinely nearby businesses more straightforward for local customers.
