Haven Camps

Haven Camps is a camp and retreat organization serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Its mission is to meet campers’ physical, social, and spiritual needs through welcoming experiences throughout the year. The organization began at Delta Lake in 1971, founded by Rev. Bill Moon, who brought residents of New York State facilities to camp for a few days. From that small beginning, Haven Camps has grown to offer weekend retreats and week-long summer camps, with the opportunity to serve more than 400 campers annually.

Haven Camps focuses on creating a sense of belonging, helping each person feel valued and included in the community. Campers can build friendships with one another and with staff, while exploring conversations about friendship with Jesus. Activities include swimming, boating, painting, and volleyball, as well as singing, dancing, hayrides, picnics, and campfires in the camp setting.
