About HavenforArtists
Haven for Artists is a non-governmental NGO based in Beirut, Lebanon, with the mission to endorse, encourage, and expose the modern underground art scene of Lebanon and the Middle East. As a cultural feminist organization, they work at the intersection of art and activism, supporting cultural works and knowledge production rooted in intersectional feminism, gender and racial justice, and decolonial practices. Founded in 2011 by artists and activists, Haven began as a mobile body hosting festivals, performances, artist residencies, shelter programs, and exhibitions promoting local and regional artists.
Over the years, it has grown into an art house that serves as a safe space for the expansion and sustenance of freedom of expression. Haven for Artists offers various products and services, including clubs, workshops, panels, festivals, concerts, cultural events, cultural publications, creative campaigns, artist studios, and a feminist public library. Their timeline showcases a rich history of events, exhibitions, and community initiatives, further highlighting their commitment to supporting unrepresented and marginalized communities.
Meet the team behind Haven! Led by Founder and Executive Director Dayna Ash, a cultural and social activist, the organization comprises a talented group of individuals dedicated to advancing women's and queer rights through art and activism. Haven for Artists is a dynamic brand that continues to evolve and adapt to the changing needs of the underground art scene, with a focus on promoting inclusivity, empowerment, and social change
