Haven Invitational

Haven Invitational is an annual golf tournament founded by Connor Buchanan to raise awareness of mental health challenges and support local mental health initiatives in Ottawa. The event was created to recognize the difficulties people have faced and encourage continued support for those affected. Its charitable focus includes the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre, and participants can make an additional donation during registration or contribute if they cannot attend.

The tournament’s third annual event was held on July 27, 2024, at Cedarhill Golf & Country Club in Nepean, Ontario. Registration cost $120 and included green fees, golf cart use, dinner, and tournament entry; drinks were purchased separately at the course. The day featured 18 holes of golf, an awards dinner, and prizes for achievements such as champion, best-scoring partners, best dressed, closest to the pin, and longest drive. Haven Invitational provides a welcoming way for golfers to enjoy a day of competition while helping bring attention and resources to mental health support.
