About Hawke's Bay Hunt
Hawke’s Bay Hunt is a New Zealand horse-and-hound hunting club established in 1891. One of 28 Hunts around the country, it continues a tradition introduced to New Zealand by early settlers who wished to maintain a familiar sport from their homeland. The club describes hunting as a historic pastime and offers riders a welcoming community and an enjoyable day out with their horses, for participants young and old.
Hawke’s Bay Hunt invites people interested in the sport to get in touch and learn more about hunting with the club. Its website provides information about membership, events and the club’s activities, along with a gallery. While no upcoming events are currently listed, visitors can check back for updates or contact the club directly. Enquiries can be directed to Master Bridget Hyslop or Secretary Fiona France by phone or email. Combining a long-standing sporting tradition with a friendly group of riders, Hawke’s Bay Hunt welcomes those looking to connect with local equestrian life and experience hunting on horseback in New Zealand.
