Hawkestone Golf Club is a welcoming country golf club on Kakariki Road, between Halcombe and State Highway 1 in New Zealand’s Manawatū/Rangitīkei region. Set beside the Kakariki wetlands, the club was founded in 1930 to serve working people and their families. Today, it continues that tradition with a focus on participation and inclusion, welcoming golfers of all ages, genders and abilities.
The mature, volunteer-maintained course has nine fairways, 18 tee blocks and two pin placements on each green, offering a varied round for beginners and experienced players alike. Visitors and casual golfers are welcome, with green fees listed at $25 for a nine- or 18-hole round. The club also offers membership and regular competitions, including Saturday club days and dedicated nine-hole play.
Hawkestone’s club rooms and bar provide views across the lower fairways and nearby lake. Open on club days, the facilities are also available for hire. Social groups are accommodated, and camper vans may stay overnight for a small donation, waived for golfers paying green fees.
