Hazard Defense is a Reno, Nevada–based provider of self-defense training, firearm sales, concealed-carry permit instruction, and home security consulting. The company helps individuals and families build practical skills and prepare for potential threats at home and in public. Its Washoe County CCW certification course includes county-mandated classroom instruction, testing, and shooting qualification as the first step toward obtaining a statewide concealed weapon permit.
Self-defense training focuses on accessible techniques and confidence, including for people who may not be suited to hand-to-hand combat. Hazard Defense also offers personal consultations to help customers choose firearms suited to their needs and preferences, along with tailored home security strategies ranging from simple measures to more extensive improvements. The business was founded by Finn West, a retired Marine Corps Master Sergeant and Master Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician with more than 20 years of firearm experience.
He is an NRA-certified instructor and Range Safety Officer, bringing military, protective-security, and emergency-management experience to a low-pressure, positive approach to training
