HBCU Executive Leadership Institute

The HBCU Executive Leadership Institute (ELI) at Clark Atlanta University is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of leaders for Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). Focused on developing aspiring HBCU presidents and executive leaders, the institute offers a performance-based program that immerses participants in real-world scenarios reflective of authentic HBCU contexts. Each year, up to 30 selected Fellows benefit from a tailored curriculum that emphasizes key leadership competencies, including strategic planning, emotional intelligence, and crisis management.

The ELI not only prioritizes individual growth through personalized leadership pathways but also cultivates a supportive “Fellow Alumni Network” for ongoing collaboration. With a commitment to enhancing the leadership pipeline within the HBCU ecosystem, ELI provides essential resources such as internships, certificates, and mentorship to equip leaders with the skills needed to foster institutional success and advocate for racial and social justice.
