Health-RI is a pioneering Dutch health care initiative dedicated to constructing an integrated health data infrastructure for research and innovation. Established in 2017, the Health-RI initiative was the collaborative effort of multiple research organizations in the Netherlands. It aims to improve the health and well-being of both citizens and patients by developing a state-of-the-art research infrastructure.

Health-RI, which stands for Health research infrastructure, offers a comprehensive vision and roadmap for creating a unified national platform for personalized medicine and health research. Recently, in 2021, Health-RI achieved significant progress with the support of funds from the National Growth Fund, specifically allocated to developing a robust health data infrastructure. By organizing and implementing the Dutch Open Science and FAIR data policies, Health-RI plays a pivotal role in ensuring optimal accessibility to knowledge, research data, and cutting-edge equipment for research and innovation.

The initiative strives to foster collaboration between researchers, citizens, care providers, and industry professionals, enabling the efficient and effective utilization of health data, samples, and images.
