About Latrobe Health Assembly
Latrobe Health Assembly is a community-led organization that strives to improve health and wellness in Latrobe Valley. By facilitating collaboration among local communities, organizations, and government agencies, their vision is to work towards a healthier future for the region. The assembly focuses on four key priority areas: mental health, early childhood development and learning, community connectedness and vulnerability, and active living.
Within these areas, they undertake various projects and initiatives to foster good mental health, provide children with a strong start in life, create opportunities for community connection and participation, and promote healthy, active lifestyles. Currently, they are working on projects such as the Mental Health Cafe, the Latrobe Valley Chronic Disease Action Plan, and early childhood development programs. Latrobe Health Assembly operates with a co-design approach, basing their initiatives on evidence and evaluating their effectiveness for further expansion.
They also encourage community members to submit innovative project ideas to improve health and wellbeing in the region
