About Health First Colorado
Health First Colorado is the rebranded name for Colorado's Medicaid Program, representing the state's member-focused approach to public health care coverage. As a public health insurance option, Health First Colorado provides coverage for eligible Coloradans. Member eligibility, benefits, and providers remain the same under the new name and logo.
Managed by the Department of Health Care Policy & Financing, Medicaid is funded jointly by the federal and state government. Every Health First Colorado member has a primary care provider and belongs to a regional organization that helps connect them with necessary healthcare services. Your primary care provider serves as the initial point of contact for all health and wellness needs.
Existing Health First Colorado members can learn how to get involved and provide feedback. The program covers a range of services, including smoking cessation support, and offers online tools for checking application status and accessing medical claim information.
