The Health Policy Institute is an organization focused on improving health care by promoting a functional, patient-friendly system that responds to people’s needs. It brings together professionals with varied experience and emphasizes the importance of patient perspectives in both strategic and day-to-day work. The Institute cooperates with organizations representing patients and their rights, as well as with governmental and non-governmental partners.

Its work spans health policy, patient rights, e-health, pharmaceutical policy, health technology assessment (HTA), clinical trials, and the accessibility and quality of health services. The Institute develops analyses and educational materials, shares research and policy resources, and reports on legislative initiatives and health care system plans. Its activities also include webinars, training, summer schools, winter meetings, educational events, internships, and volunteering opportunities.

The Institute supports patient organizations through education and encourages patients to participate in health care decision-making, drawing on European practices and initiatives such as EUPATI. Since 2024, it has participated in EDiHTA, a Horizon Europe research and innovation project developing a European framework for assessing digital health technologies.
