About Healthy Families NZ
Healthy Families NZ is a large-scale prevention initiative that strives for better health in the places we live, learn, work, and play. By bringing community leadership together, Healthy Families NZ aims to create health-promoting social and physical environments that enable healthy choices in terms of food, physical activity, smoking, alcohol consumption, and mental health. This approach focuses on addressing the underlying conditions that impact our health and wellbeing, with the goal of reducing the risk of preventable chronic diseases.
With 11 teams across ten localities, Healthy Families NZ works in partnership with lead providers including Iwi, Whānau Ora, Local Government, Regional Sports Trusts, and Pacific-led Social Change organizations. Each locality is unique, and solutions are driven by the people who are most affected.
