Healthy Horse Affairs is an equine wellbeing service run by Manon Borst, focused on supporting horses’ health through tailored nutrition advice, weight monitoring, massage and taping. Its approach considers each horse individually, taking into account factors such as breed, age, sex, activity level, current feeding routine and weight. Manon visits owners to discuss their horse’s needs, weigh the animal with a mobile horse scale and use the information to prepare a ration calculation and personalized feeding recommendations.
The mobile scale can be brought to the owner’s location and is used to record weight; a laser is also used to measure height at the withers. Owners receive a record of both measurements, which can be useful for care and transport planning. Massage is offered to help ease muscular tension, encourage relaxation and support supple movement and performance. Taping may also be applied after a massage to provide additional support to selected muscles.
